Samsung Smart Home: The Future OF Homes

Now everyone have heard about CES 2014 right? It's full name is Consumer Electronics Expo. I will make a post about it later if some of you don't know what this expo is about. So let's get back to the topic of smart homes. During the CES 2014, Samsung introduced their ideas about their latest creation of Smart Home idea which they call it Samsung Smart Home.

Samsung Smart Home enables all the home devices such as your Samsung TV's, air-conditioning system, refrigerator, washing machines, etc gets connected to each other on a single platform  in an all in one app that you can get access to using your Smartphone. Well, it's a great idea as they are the ones who are going to get their hands on the technology and the rest of the giant electronic companies will surely follow their idea and trying to make them better.

Consumers can get a lot of benefit from this technology as that is what this stuff is all about, enriching our lives and having a quality life that we all like to do. :) Maybe in another year or two, we will surely see a lot of home appliances and devices that are integrated into the Smart Home idea.

Without further a due, enjoy the demo of Samsung Usa at the CES 2014, about the Smart Home.

Motorola has revamped their last year's Moto X edition for 2014 and it proves to be a great smartphone with pure android experience. With it's new design and improved screen resolution of 1080p, this clearly shown improvements in terms of user and viewing experience.

The new Moto X is fast and smooth, features front speakers and a metal rim, and is one of the better phones. But will that help it sell better than last year’s model? Only Motorola sales team can answer it.

Iphone 5s Unboxing from Detroit Borg

So just in case you missed the iPhone 5s, here's some video that I stumbled upon of an unboxing video of iPhone 5s to cure your iPhone fever-ish. As you can see, there's been a lot of improvements from the previous iPhone 5 such as TouchID which I find very useful if let's say you want to unlock your phone or purchase some apps. There is also an improvement on the camera and video mode where we can take slo-mo video that records at a 720 p resolution at a thunderous 120 fps.

Since the release of the phone, I've been comparing the iPhone 5s and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 to which one should I buy. As far as I can tell, my decision's so far really weighs on the iPhone. I know the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has a lot of bigger specs but I've heard some bad feedbacks from my friend on previous Galaxy Note 2 that he have some problems with lags and unexpected shutdown which is really a drawdown for me.

So I'm still searching for which one should I buy, and am comparing which telco provider in Malaysia, Digi, Maxis, and Celcom, on which one of them bring out the best in terms of value and savings. I think DiGi opt to be the best option but I don't know if the network's speed and the coverage is better in Kuching. I guess Apple is already winning my vote compare to other smartphone powerhouse, well that is in my case. How about yours?

In these recent years, more and more professionals and amateurs find themselves into an era of new genre in videography that uses the current DSLRs that supports HD Video capability and Canon is probably by far is the best manufacturer in its class wouldn't you agree? One of the infamous and legendary HD DSLR are the 5D Mark III- Having a good video camera, great lighting setups, solid post-productions, and through the use of high quality lenses, even an amateur can produce a cinema like quality productions!

Canon have released their latest workhorse for HD Video DSLR, the Canon EOS 70D which replaces its previous model, the Canon EOS 60D which backdates to 2010 models. Their latest production will surely satisfy pro-sumer DSLR fans who are just getting into HD DSLR Videography. Priced at 1,200$ for body only, the 70D sits just right between the Rebel T5i (750$ body only) and the EOS 7D (1500$ body only).

While we can see a lot of improvements overall, the main killer features that needs to be speak about is their latest technology that provide faster autofocus, which is very useful for HD videos.

Instagram is now available on Windows phone.

P/s: Just got back from my quick lunch and stumbled upon this. It's getting boring at my site now. hahah.

Have you heard that Instagram, world's famous social photo sharing app that is available on Apple and Android platform, is now made available for Windows Phone? If you haven't, then you should know that it is now available, well in case you are a Windows Phone Fan or if you are thinking of changing to the 3 rd platforms.

Though it is now available in Windows smarpthones, the apps still needs a lot of improvements as pretty much all of the previous features that they have, is currently unavailable, such as InstaVideo, geoaxis tagging, video capture and uploading, which is quite a drawdown if you have previously used Instagram on other platforms. But no worries, I'm sure they are still working it out to improve Instagram somehow.

Instagram and Windows move to make Instagram available in Windows phone is without doubt a smart move as users all over the world really likes sharing photos of their lives with friends and all over the world, which somehow affects their decision whether they want to buy the phone or not. After all, good and free stuff is always better and wins the heart of the people.

HTC One Max : Monster in disguise?

HTC move to bring it's One Smartphone Flagship to the next level by releasing their latest product, HTC One Max is quite smart. It has a fingerprint scanner, to be competitive with the iPhone, and has an impressive 5.9" HD screen display to compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

I guess they wanted to kick some ass by waiting for the Galaxy Note 3 and iPhone 5s to come out first, and then they'll release the "big gun" up their sleeves. Maybe they just feel challenged during last debut of HTC One that have a 4.7" screen, right after that, iPhone released their iPhone 5 and Samsung released their Galaxy Note 3.

Just the perfect timing. But how does it actually feels and is the device as good as it's predecessor? For me, there is not much difference between HTC One Max and HTC One, only the screen gets bigger. In terms of the design, it is very similar.

Complete with aluminium back design, 32 GB internal storage, front-facing stereo speakers, "ultra megapixel" camera, everything is the same as the HTC One.

Let us know if you are interested with the monstrous HTC One Max or not.

Samsung Note 3

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is probably by far the best note smartphone tablet I have ever used. The big screen that accentuates the tablet feel makes you feel just right at home. What more can you say, it's big, smart, powerful and handy. Like handy handy. I reckoned it is far better than the Galaxy S4. Sorry S4 lovers. You can go home boy.

Boasting a 5.7" Full HD Super Amoled Display which has a 1920 x 1080 display, plus the useful stylus s pen that actually works, compared to the previous Galaxy Note II, which has the 5.55" screen display, it creates a more richer display, but without any addition in terms of device dimension. The size is the same, only the screen gets bigger.

Samsung really killed with as they kicked up a notch for the design of the body, which feels lighter than it's previous predecessor. The Android 4.3 OS is somewhat gives you a fresher looks and it feels more responsive than ever before. But don't know if the speed and responsiveness of the phone decreases over time or not, we'll have to wait and see.

"The first smartphone to have a 3.0 USB connectivity"
What you'll love

  • the screen size
  • Air command menu is superb
  • excellent hand to text conversion
  • design feels great
  • feels lighter
What you'll hate
  • rear camera gets in the way
  • battery life is not that great
  • some s pen functions is useless.
  • you don't have one yet.
If you are a user of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, would you share your opinions with us? And if you are not one yet, would you buy one?

Samsung announces wider connectivity of smartphones for Galaxy Gear

Samsung announces that they will add more smartphones to be used with their new Galaxy Gear device rather than just the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. This is a smart move as to increase a wider range of audience and as well as to help increase sales of the Galaxy Gear.

Samsung said that it will add a more variety of its products such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Note, S4, and S3 in months. The updates for the Android 4.3 will depend on the courier of your country. Some countries might have to wait a lil bit. Yeah I know it kinda sucks when other people get to update earlier than you.

Although it looks cool to have a Galaxy Gear, but it still looks childish to me. Feels like you are a member of a Power Rangers or something. Imagine a 50 year old dude wearing it. But I still cannot deny the usefulness of this product especially if you are a professional stalker. hahaha.

If you were a Samsung Smartphone owner, would you get yourself one? Tell us why.
