How GoPro made a billion dollar idea?

Do you ever had a dream of becoming a billionaire? Well I do, but the problem is I'm not even a millionaire yet. hahah. Well, this is not the case for Nicholas Woodman, GoPro Founder and CEO, where he had an idea of having a portable HD Video Recorder for people to share their moments or relive their moments with friends and family, which made him one of Forbes Billionaire lists.

The idea started back in 2002, when he managed to get a funding for a project and he went for a vacation at one of his favourite spot for surfing. His very first idea was to have a gadget that can capture and document his activities while he's on a vacation. He wanted a gadget that can capture the moment when he was surfing, so he invented a prototype of his own using a normal point and shoot camera, put a strap on it so he can place it on his hands and record the video while he's surfing.

He first didn't realize that it can be a great billion dollar idea, not until on one day when the thought that other surfers might also one a gadget like that to capture their own moment. That is the starting point for GoPro legacy.

Is logo important for your business?

So here I am waiting for my mom to pay her bills on one of our nearest Maybank Branch here in Jalan Kulas.

As I was waiting, I looked up at their branch outlets and there they are, the big black and yellow logo of Maybank, staring at me and shouting! "Hey, here I am! Maybank!"

It's big, clear, colourful and easy to find. It got me thinking of how useful a good looking and eye-catching logo can do. So what do we learn from this? I guess we can apply the same concept in our business too! Build or create your own logo and brand name!

Twitter IPO price expected to reach 23-25$ per share?

I know it is unlikely for me to write about stock prices but I'd like to write one as to fill in my column for Finance and Social Media as it has been a long time since I posted one. So enjoy.

Twitter expected their IPO price to reach a price at the range of 23-25$ after their actual IPO price revealed last month was at 17-20$ per share, according to SEC.

They were reported to have more demands after they were able to sell 70 million of it's IPO share which causes the price to soar. The buying frenzy could also be caused by some analysts to recommend buyers to restock their twitter IPO shares.

An analysts with Pivotal Research, Brian Weiser, targeted the price would reach 29$ per share, while Rick Summer from the Morningstar differs that it could reach the 50$ per share mark. well, I don't know where did they get the numbers running but my guess is that this is probably just to increase the hype so as to increase the growing demand of twitter shares, kinda like to self-fulfilling prophecy, in trading fundamentals.

twitter first revealed that they are interested in going public with their share on September, and they are going live on NYSE probably this Thursday, as revealed.
